JournalWise ("we", "our", "app") is an offline-first personal journaling app. This Privacy Policy explains what data is processed, how it is used, and your choices.

1. Data We Process

Journal content stored on your device: entries, mood notes, tags, media attachments, drawings, reminders, and app settings.
Device permissions used only when you use related features:
- Photos/Media (attach images)
- Microphone (record audio notes)
- Notifications (journal reminders)
- Storage/File access (export/import backup files)
Ad-related data (only if rewarded ads are used): Google AdMob may process device and interaction data according to Google policies.

2. How We Use Data

To provide journaling features and local storage.
To enable reminders and personalization settings.
To support backup and restore actions initiated by you.
To support optional rewarded-ad unlock flows.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data.
Your journal content is stored locally on your device and is not shared by default.
Third-party SDKs (for example, Google AdMob) may process data required to provide their services.

4. Children’s Privacy

JournalWise is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate action.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data remains on your device until you delete it.
You can delete entries and backup files using in-app controls.
Uninstalling the app removes app data from your device, except files you exported outside the app.

6. Security

We use reasonable safeguards for local data handling. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for securing your device and exported backup files.
